Beth and Ezra Barany – Branding for Novelists

Foundations for Your Marketing — All the Basics in One Place

To reach your readers, lots of experts tell you to blog, and use social media, and send out newsletters.

But you’d rather work on your next book.

Marketing obligations are overwhelming.

Where do you actually ?

  • ** How will anyone discover your book if you don’t take the time to create a sustainable marketing plan?
  • ** How can you launch and get support for your book?
  • ** How will anyone discover your book?

You’ve spent hours and hours, maybe years on writing and polishing your novel.

You’ve uploaded it to all the vendors, and waited for that first sale. But nothing.

No sales, except maybe from your mother and best friend.

You realize you don’t even know what to say to get readers interested in buying your book.

If you’re planning to publish soon, you need to know exactly what to say to get readers interested in your book.

Or maybe it’s like this…

You’ve been publishing for a while, but promoting feels like a black hole.

You’re doing everything, but you have no strategy and no coherent message.

You post on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Litsy, Goodreads, etc. and are so tired you don’t have time to write the next book because you’re promoting all the time and constantly trying to figure out what to say next.

I get it. That’s why I created this course.

So when you work through the foundations of branding and marketing, you can gain clarity, peace of mind, and map out a plan of action.

IN BRIEF

The Branding For Novelists home study course is for self-published or traditionally published authors preparing to launch their books into the world.

Over 250 students have used this course to build their marketing foundation.

Taught by me, Beth Barany, an award-winning novelist, Master NLP practitioner, and certified creativity coach for writers, I teach at writing conferences and training centers and run Barany School of Fiction. Our latest book for writers is Plan Your Novel Like A Pro.

By the time you’ve finished this course, you’ll have:

— Created a one-sentence branding statement so that you can easily spread the word about your book.

When you’re at an event with readers or even with just your peers, it’s great to be able to state what you write without anyone eyes glazing over.

Instead wouldn’t it be nice for them to say, “Ooh! That sounds interesting! Tell me more.” Or even, “Where can I buy your book?”

— Written an author bio for promotions that carries the message about your book and your mission.

A compelling unique author bio can entice your right readers, whether it’s on a social media channel, your website, or blog.

Be consistent with your brand across all media and invite readers to get to know you and your books better.

— Set up a mailing list so that you can cultivate a community

Experts say the number one way fans stay in touch with the authors they love is via email. Social media channels come and go but email communication has stayed the course.

And there’s nothing more intimate than the experience of getting a personal note from an author you like and learning of their latest news. I know I always love it. That’s why the reader signs up for your newsletter in the first place.

— Crafted a launch campaign to reach your best readers

Just like it’s hard to get to New York from San Francisco without a plan, you wouldn’t want to send your book out in the world without a plan on how to reach your readers.

True, if you’re launching your first book, it can be challenging — but not impossible — to know what will work. All the successful authors out there today ed by experimentation to discover what worked.

— Drafted a sustainable promotional content plan to fit your brand.

If you enjoy an activity, you’re more likely to turn it into a habit. Once a habit, you don’t have to think about it as much and you can still enjoy it.

It’s likely that you want to write more books and so having a plan of action that fits your brand and your life will help this happen.

At the end of the day, being a successful author is about persistence, about writing your books and letting your core fans know about your books, and always finding ways to reach new audiences.
