About the Speakers:JAMIE OTREMBA, MSN, RN, CNMJamie Otremba has over 20 years of maternal child nursing experience and is currently practicing full scope nurse-midwifery at a progressive OB/GYN clinic in suburban Minnesota. Jamie has been active in program development and benchmarking in both clinic and hospital settings. She is also one of the medical directors for the Women’s and Children’s Service Line at a large hospital and medical center in Minnesota. Jamie served as an assistant professor at Minnesota State University and has practiced in women’s health care in a variety of settings, including: labor and delivery, postpartum, antenatal, and community health nursing. She has consulted for area health care facilities on clinical and legal practice topics, and she continues as an investigator for several medication trials pertinent to obstetric and gynecologic issues. Additionally, Jamie has enjoyed sharing her vast knowledge and experiences as a preceptor for both medical and advanced practice nursing students.

CECILE OLIVER, MSN, CNS, RNC-OB/MNN, C-FM

Cecile Oliver has extensive experience in obstetrical nursing, including many dedicated years working in labor and delivery, as a perinatal educator, and serving as a transport nurse for high-risk perinatal patients. She is currently on faculty at Washington State University providing clinical and didactic instruction to OB nursing students. Cecile is certified in inpatient obstetrics, fetal monitoring and maternal newborn through the National Certification Corporation (NCC®). She has served for several years on the NCC Obstetric Content Team, designing certification exams and developing learning opportunities to meet the specialized needs for obstetrical nurses. She currently works with Center for Certification Preparation and Review (CCPR), designing preparation content, workbooks and practice exams for all the certifications available through NCC®. Additionally, she is an active member of the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric, & Neonatal Health (AWHONN), having served as past Nebraska Chair of AWHONN.

A highly sought-after speaker, Cecile presents throughout the country on a variety of perinatal topics, including high- and low-risk obstetrical issues and advanced electronic fetal monitoring. Cecile is well known for her ability to share practical insights during her informative and entertaining talks. Ongoing experiences serving as an expert witness on a variety of obstetric malpractice cases allow Cecile the ability to incorporate a realistic view of the current legal environment surrounding high-risk obstetrics. She has contributed to the editing of several Obstetric publications, including Susan Tucker’s Guide to Fetal Monitoring and the AWHONN High Risk Obstetrics text.
