There are seven major initiations (tests) that all human beings experience on their journey towards wholeness—each being related to one of our seven primary chakras. These tests are placed in our path by us, not God, for our soul’s growth. These tests do not occur only once, but instead recycle around and around, bringing us to higher and higher levels of awareness–whether we are conscious of it or not. However, becoming conscious of these tests makes our journey much easier.

You might often ask yourself what the purpose is of all of these complicated processes, cycles, and experiences. Why did you choose these lessons in the first place? Why didn’t you wake up sooner, and why did you resist your awakening so persistently? Yet, in the end, when we see the value and growth from our lessons (after being so patient and vigilant with these initiations of life), we will feel a humble sense of gratitude. We will focus less on what could have been and more on what truly was and, more importantly, what is. This is especially true when we witness, first-hand, the effects our transformed self can have on the life of another soul (or souls) who may be struggling with something that we have already cycled through.

Completing a major cycle of initiations is like reaching a new, higher level of spiritual maturity and awareness. It’s not unlike raising a child. Yet, the day usually comes when we see how our love and persistence have paid off. Of course parenting, like large-scale initiations, is made easier when we let go of our personal agendas.

IN THE END, THERE IS A PURPOSE AFTER ALL

So what is the pay-off for enduring life’s challenges and initiations? What is the meaning of life? What is the purpose of life’s tests? In essence, we might now feel more whole and complete, as well as free and at peace. We now recognize our part in learning to gain new perspectives of ourselves and the world around us. We see everyone and everything in a new light.

We resist life’s lessons less often and learn to see trials as our own misperceptions being called to transformation—knowing something better awaits—the dawning of a new day. Nevertheless, even when we keep our focus on the truth of who we are, we will still encounter lessons, cycles, and phases of growth or remembrance.

In fact, we learn to measure our growth process not by having an absence of challenges, but by the ability to recognize when we slip, as well as choosing to bounce back as quickly as possible. Nevertheless, until the moment of “total awakening,” we can expect to experience various forms of tests, lessons, and awakenings. And each of these ultimately is offering us the potential for awakening to a whole new reality.

CONCLUSION

When all lessons are learned, we are able to see that behind them all were our own false beliefs waiting to be dispersed. We now realize that our evolutionary experiences were never really about God sending us forth to learn something new, or gather information. God was never telling us we had debts to pay or perfection to achieve. It was always about us! We only learned lessons that we thought we had to learn, paid debts that we thought we owed, and tried to collect debts that we thought others owed us.

The final awakening (which only occurs after numerous smaller awakenings) is a liberation from all of these opinions, illusions, and false beliefs. It’s a release from all beliefs other than God’s and a surrendering of our opinions to God’s perfect knowingness.

The universe is a school where people will eventually develop into the image and likeness of God. It will exist as long as a school is needed. –Peace Pilgrim

Then, when the opportunities for learning lessons in a body are completed, the body dies, and the soul moves on into higher realms until it needs to return again for other lessons or initiations. And finally, when the soul has learned all of its lessons, it will surrender its existence and merge back into its originating Spirit and oneness with God.

The purpose of our journey can be summarized as follows: If we have learned well and allowed our previous experiences to raise our consciousness, we will see a brighter future—one that involves healing and/or new, refreshing beginnings. On the other hand, if we resist or deny the lessons in each experience, our soul will bring forth harder lessons that are less likely to be missed. Every event in our life arose from this three-stage process and continues as long as we are part of earth’s evolutionary cycles.

Once we truly understand this evolutionary process as a cycle created by us, it’s much easier to see that we are co-creators of our life and of the universe at large. We will then understand how our actions, decisions, and responses of yesterday attracted what we are experiencing today; and the decisions of today affect what you will experience tomorrow.
